Leo De Bever

Chairman

With more than 30 years of experience through financial, government and investment sectors, Leo has led executive leadership with financial institutions based in Canada, the U.S, Japan and Australia, including the Bank of Canada, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo). He has served as an advisor to Norway’s Pension Plan, and served on the Investment Committee of Dutch pension fund APG, in addition to leading numerous government economic panels. Leo earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Oregon and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin.

Rob Pockar

Director

Rob has over 25 years of experience as a business leader and environmental consultant. Rob has served as Director at Nauticol since 2016 and joined the management team in early 2021. Rob served as President and CEO of Matrix Solutions from 2008 to 2020. During his tenure as CEO, he led Matrix through significant growth and service expansion, including several strategic acquisitions.  In addition to executive leadership, he has extensive technical experience in environmental liability assessment and remediation, water resources engineering, and environmental impact assessment to support project design and regulatory approval.

 

Rob has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta and a Master of Science degree in Earth Science from the University of Waterloo.

Bruce Clarke

Director

Bruce has over 30 years’ experience as a business leader and portfolio manager in the asset management and investment banking industries. He started his career in Canada, and has worked in the UK, Italy and the U.S. Bruce manages PBJ Capital, a private venture capital fund investing in early stage technology companies. He is a Founder and Chairman of Arrowstreet Capital, an institutional asset management firm with over $100 billion in assets under management. Prior to stepping down from an executive role in 2015, Bruce was CEO and Executive Chairman of Arrowstreet. He has an MBA from the London Business School, a Bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Mark Tonner

Director

Mark has over 25 years of experience and leadership in both the finance sector and the energy industry. Prior to co-founding Nauticol in 2016, Mark had a 20-year career with General Electric where he was the President of GE Energy’s investing business in Canada. During his time at GE, Mark led the development, investment and construction of several billion dollars of energy infrastructure projects across Canada.

Mark is an innovator, and he has built a reputation around his high level of collaboration and inclusiveness with a broad group of partners and stakeholders. He was born in England, but has spent most of his life in Canada and now calls Calgary home.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and an MBA from the University of Saskatchewan.
